7 Self Care morning routine that you must follow: A step by step guide

self care morning routine

In my last session, the girl was in her mid 20s and was looking for self care morning routine ideas to live a better life.

But when I asked her what she understands that self care is, all she knew was –

to take care of herself. But she was so much limited to face masks, bubble baths, etc. And after our session, the first thing she confessed was –

“Thank you for this, I never knew there are more ways to take care of myself. It’s not just face and body, but mind and soul too”

And that is when I felt that this has to be cleared.

There’s so much more to self care than just taking care of your skin.

Because even if we are not connecting through my self care coaching, I would love to see that you implement new self care ideas and make your life a vibrant place to live in.

Let’s look into the 7 self care morning routine that you can try.

Infact, you SHOULD try!

Keep your gratitude journal handy beside your bed

Everyday, when you wakeup, immediately sit with your diary and write three things you are grateful for every morning.

It can be anything—from your cozy blanket to the bird chirping outside your window.

Journaling as one of the self care morning routine provides you mental clarity increasing your dopamine and serotonin levels.

You start to see the good aspects in your life and welcome abundance in life with good thoughts and satisfaction.

Do some stretching before you get out of your bed

Wake up your muscles with a gentle stretch.

Adding this to your self care morning routine will increase blood flow and release endorphins which are the body’s natural mood elevators.

Head to an open space and practice breathing exercises

Breathwork helps oxygenate your body, reduce anxiety, and improve focus.

In many religion, it is believed that doing pranayama (where prana is the energy inside you and ayama is the control that you can keep) helps activate prana (life force energy) and clears energetic blockages, leaving you feeling refreshed and centered.

Spend a few minutes practicing deep breathing exercises, such as alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) or simply taking deep belly breaths.

You can even try Kapalbhati as your self care morning routine for a better start to your day.

Have Sunlight Exposure for Vitamin D

Consuming sun rays in the morning helps your body to regulate circadian rhythm and increases serotonin levels, improving mood.

So when you do your breathwork, try doing it at a place where your body gets sunrays along.

Alongwith your face, pamper your space

When you wake up to a fresh room with neatness and organization screaming in the room, you like living in that aura.

If you wake up to a messy room, there are high chances that some of your thoughts remain tangled.

So sleep with all utensils washed, all mess around the room aligned.

And when you wakeup, fold your blankets, ready your bed. Clean your house and only then start your day.

Take a cold shower

In Vedic science, it is believed that your body is made up of 70% water and when you take a bath the water outside syncs with the water inside purifying your body overall.

This could be a possible reason why you feel fresh once you have a bath.

A cold shower in the morning boosts circulation, energizes your body, and enhances mood by triggering the release of norepinephrine.

So before you start to set the day’s rhythm, it is important to set yours.

Plan out a morning mindful routine

If you start something smoothly, the journey sets the pace.

So when you have a fresh bright morning, the day looks smoother than ones without a planned productive start.

This is mainly because the stress hormones from the past day’s memory reduces and your energy starts aligning with a higher frequency, making you more peaceful and full of clarity for the coming day.

Write every small and big thing that you want to accomplish throughout the day.

It could be achievements related to your career, personal life, spiritual journey, etc.

My personal suggestion would be that try to cover the seven pillars of self care by doing something for each of them.

Starting your day with a morning self-care routine can really help you feel more focused and positive.

It’s all about creating a calm, balanced start to your day so you can handle whatever comes your way.
